Winter Storm Watch issued March 13 at 3:00PM CDT until March 16 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulationsbetween 1 and 6 inches, with some locations as high as 8 inches.Ice accumulations between one one-hundredth and one tenth of aninch are possible. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph.* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northwest, and westcentral Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota.* WHEN...From late Friday night through Saturday evening.* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling andblowing snow. Whiteout conditions are possible and may make traveltreacherous and potentially life-threatening.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A band of heavy snow will develop and drivewhere blizzard conditions will arise. Most people in the WinterStorm Watch area will not experience blizzard conditions or evenpotentially snowfall.Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutelynecessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winterstorm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would helpyou survive in case you become stranded.
