Excessive Heat Watch issued June 29 at 12:28PM PDT until July 6 at 5:00AM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 100 to105 possible, and upwards of 105 to 115 possible over interiorvalleys and foothills including the Antelope Valley.* WHERE...A portion of southwest California.* WHEN...From Tuesday morning through late Friday night.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat events. Warm overnight low temperatures, especiallylate next week, will worsen the effects of extreme heat.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm to hot conditions will have thepotential to bring significant heat impacts to the coast, startingon Wednesday and continuing through the remainder of next week.Heat headlines may need to be expanded to include a larger portionof Southern California in later forecasts.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
